Suicide Note Necklace
Suicide Note Necklace is an original design by Derek Hess dating back to 2008 when he first illustrated the concept of a musical note with a skull as the "head," as a cover image for the Northeast Ohio weekly magazine, The FREE Times, in honor of their annual Music Awards issue.
Considered a signature Derek Hess design, Suicide Note eventually became a limited edition sculpture in 2017 and was later screen printed onto select numbers of vintage album covers, with the vinyl records still available inside.
Today, Suicide Note has come to represent the connection between rock and roll and mental health, a universal symbol of the healing power of music.
