Kait Print
Kait is an open edition print by Derek Hess that was made using layers of collaged clippings from different print materials and a hand drawn illustration of a smiling skeleton face over top.
Derek said, "There are many layers to this piece. The original was layered on top of escort advertisements that used to be in the back of entertainment free weekly papers that many cities have. I believe these specific ones came from the Cleveland Free Times. On top of it is a painted scrap page from a sketchbook. Then I finished with a clipping from the late 1960’s of a model from Cosmopolitan magazine. I then worked pen and acrylic into the face to have this smiling type of skull for her face."
The first edition of this print has long been sold out. It was released in 2007 and was a signed and numbered edition of 200.
Printed on 270 GSM acid-free fine art paper.
