My Words Were Useless Again Silkscreen Print
My Words Were Useless Again is a limited edition silkscreen print by Derek Hess that's 1 of 5 prints that have been brought back as part of his 20th Anniversary Print Collection. The print features a loosely drawn human figure with hands and head hanging down, hunched over. A splash layer of red around the figure's face and chest was pulled as a second color to emphasize the emotional aspect of the art.
Derek said, "For the past 20 years, I’ve experimented with different ways of drawing loosely. By keeping the pen down while I'm drawing, and not lifting it off the paper, I kind of like the flow and not being restricted to having to come up with any great details. It's more about the feeling."
Handwritten at the bottom by Derek is the title, "My words were useless again," which are lyrics by the band, Neurosis.
Size: 9.5" x 14.5"
